Important Update Regarding the End of the School Year: We are pleased to share that the West Virginia Department of Education has granted Wood County Schools a waiver for three instructional days. As a result of this approval, the last day of school for students will remain Tuesday, June 2, 2026 — no changes have been made to the previously published school calendar. On February 7, the Parkersburg High School Science Bowl Team left Morgantown as one of the best in the state. They competed in the West Virginia Regional Science Bowl Competition hosted by the National Department of Energy and finished in 2nd place. Members received a nice prize package, including a donation to the school's science department. Participating members were Ember Galloway, Smit Babariya, Aaron Huynh, and Liya Tewodros. Congratulations on a well-earned recognition.
Wood County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Monday, February 9, 2026, due to single-digit morning temperatures and challenging conditions on some secondary roads.
