· OJ Stout (MALE ONLY) - Young men residing in Wood Co. Or an adjacent Co. Must maintain at least a 2.0 or “C” GPA. The award will be ½ of the beginning spring semester. DEADLINE: March 31, 2023.

· Robert E. Evans – Peoples Bank – Students planning to pursue a 4–year degree with a 3.5 GPA or higher and reside in the market areas served by Peoples Bank. DEADLINE: March 31, 2023.

· Charles L. & Anna N. Gault – Preferably member in good standing of the S. Parkersburg United Methodist Church or members in good standing of a church of the United Methodist Faith, situated in either Wood or Wirt Co. Student must maintain a 2.0 GPA. Please get an application in Student Services. DEADLINE: March 31, 2023.

· John & Audrey Allen – Presented to PHS Senior graduating in current year & must be pursuing higher education from a collegiate, technical or vocational learning institutuion. Please get app. In Student Services or go online: scholarships@bankwithunited.com. DEADLINE: March 31, 2023.

· BBB Charitable & Educational Fund: Scholarships range from $500 up to $2500. The Essay contest which is open to all HS students with no GPA requirement. Scholarships will be awarded for the top 6 Essays. For Info: bit.ly/CantonBBBLifeLessonsEssayContest.com. DEADLINE: March 31, 2023.

· GFWC WV State Directory: Scholarships up to $1000. Recipients will be selected in the criteria of community service, financial needs, leadership/school activities and academic info. For address and requirements please see Student Services. DEADLINE: April 1, 2023

· Association of WV Solid Waste Authorities – For consideration student must be the employees, son, daughter, grandson or granddaughter of the AWVSWA member. Preferably a student in the Environmental programs. DEADLINE: April 1, 2023.

· GFWC Parkersburg Womens Club - $1000.00 will be awarded to assist a PHS or Cath HS graduating senior women. Must be accepted as a full-time collegiate student, with a 3.0 or higher GPA. Also, with a history of volunteer work demonstrating diversity and financial need. DEADLINE: April 1, 2023.

· Bridging Cultures Scholarship – HS student currently enrolled. US Citizen or permanent resident enrolled full time in a public, private or homeschool in the US. App. & details: iceusa.org/bridgingculture.com. First, second & third winners. DEADLINE: April 1, 2023.

· Dr. James F. Dunphy Scholarship: This is through WV Symphony Orchestra. Auditions & Interviews will be on Sunday, ay 7, 2023. DEADLINE: April 7, 2023

· MACC Mid-Ohio Valley Safety Council – Essay describing desire to attain a degree in Health, safety & environmental related fields of study and why. Describe any achievements, honors or extra activities competed in high school. Submit email: president@mariettachamber.com. DEADLINE: April 15, 2023.

· MACC – Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce – Applicants can be traditional or non-traditional high school students. Students must show financial need, demonstrate a record of academic performance of a 2.5 GPA or greater. Must show the desire to earn a college degree or certificate & obtain a career working in Washington Co. Also demonstrate commitment to community service. Must fill out app in Student Services. DEADLINE: April 15, 2023.

· James “Jim” Bailey – A deserving senior with good attendance & documentation of community service from WV. Students should be pursuing a degree or certification from an accreted program of no more than 2 years. Scholarships awarded: One time of $600. DEADLINE: April 15, 2023.

· Richard Roberts “Giant Brain” - Open to any senior (class of 2023) in the state of WV & going to college in the upcoming fall semester. The scholarship winner is awarded $1000. The winner will have demonstrated both drives to succeed in school & persistence to keep going despite obstacles. DEADLINE: April 15, 2023.

· Virgie Ann Gandee Memorial – This is for students pursuing education through a trade school or community college. Scholarships awarded: $500. DEADLINE: April 15, 2023.

· Flamingo – Ing Places Scholarship – Students pursuing through Trade School or Community College. Scholarships awarded: $1000. DEADLINE: April 15, 2023.

· Robert Louis Stork – Applicants must exemplify good morals, spiritual character & good citizenship. Scholarships awarded from $500 - $1000. Applicant must complete app and Essay. DEADLINE: April 21,2023.

· Rotary Club of Wood County: Open to seniors with involvement in community activities. GPA of 2.5 or higher, recommended by school officials & demonstrates a need for scholarship. Scholarships awarded: $500. DEADLINE: April 21, 2023.

· Student-View Scholarship – This is offered to HS Seniors who plan to attend a 4-year college, Community/Junior college or career school. Awards to be presented include: 1 - $5000 2 - $1000 10 - $500. Go to: www.student-view.com. DEADLINE: April 23, 2023.

· MOVMCF Essay Scholarship – Student Essay is to tell their story about Culture. Scholarship award: $500. Please complete the application in student services. DEADLINE: May 1, 2023

· Horatio Alger Career & Technical – Students enrolling in Career & Technical Education programs for the fall of 2023. Scholarships are awarded up to $2500 depending on the length of program and the financial need of the student. Any questions: scholarships@horatioalger.org. DEADLINE: June 15, 2023.

PARCHMENT:

· Some college and scholarship applications will request a transcript; YOU NEED TO ORDER THESE FROM PARCHMENT.COM ... This is where your transcripts will be stored throughout your adult life. Background checks, employers, higher education, etc. will all need your transcript. PLEASE USE A PERSONAL EMAIL for your log in. Your k12 email will expire after graduation.

· If you don't have an account, start one. If you need help, come to my office or email me.

· Find out if the place requesting the transcript needs an OFFICIAL or Unofficial transcript. Official is when it goes DIRECTLY from Parchment to the person requesting. Unofficial is if it goes to your email then somewhere else.

· You may send one to yourself and print it out for places that are asking for a physical copy and do not want an official transcript (send now)

· PARCHMENT.COM DOES NOT CHARGE A FEE FOR YOUR TRANSCRIPTS UNTIL AUGUST 1 FOLLOWING GRADUATION (send as many as you would like to as many places as you want) If you want a FINAL transcript after graduation sent to a school, instead of choosing SEND NOW, use the drop down to HOLD FOR RECORDS. · Your GPA is on your transcript. If a college, scholarship or other application is asking for your GPA, order a transcript and have it sent to your email

Transcripts are NOT updated mid-year. They are ONLY updated after graduationScholarships will want your transcripts – send one to yourself and forward the other for the scholarship. Parchment is free for current students. Also, remember when enrolling to not use your school e-mail.

· Graduation Date Change: Monday, May 22, 2023 @ 7pm

· It was changed throughout the county due to a scheduling conflict.

· WHS is now Sunday, May 21 @ 3pm
