2022 yearbooks are in and will be distributed beginning tomorrow.
Anyone who purchased a yearbook may pick it up in room 120C (back hallway near custodial room) during their scheduled lunch period. Students may only pick up their own yearbook and you must show your student ID. A list of students who purchased yearbooks will be posted outside of 120C and outside of Mrs. Koreski's room, 311C. If you're not sure whether or not you bought a yearbook, check this list FIRST before standing in line. Yearbooks will not be sold during this time. This is only for pick up of yearbooks that have already been paid for.
There will be a very few yearbooks available for purchase on Friday on a first come, first served basis. Priority will be given to seniors; any remaining yearbooks will be available to be purchased by underclassmen beginning Monday, 5/16. The cost is $70, cash or check made payable to Parkersburg High School.
Attention Juniors interested in serving on Senior Cabinet next year: there will be a meeting in Mr. Stephens' room, 131C, before and after school on Wednesday, May 11 for anyone who would like to run for a senior class office or serve as a member-at-large. Candidate forms will be available at the meeting and the class sponsors will be available to answer questions. Meetings will take place at 7:40am and 3:25pm. If you can't attend either meeting, please see Mrs. DeBarr, Mrs. Poling, or Mr. Stephens sometime Wednesday.
Prom is this Saturday, May 7th from 7-10pm in the Field House. Prom line up will begin at 6pm in the horseshoe. The line will wrap around the north end of the school (right side facing) and back into the back lot. Before your name is read, students will be given a note card and pen for them, and their date to write down their name. Upon reading of the names, students can have their moment on the front step to get their picture taken. Once in the Field House, students must have both their ID and ticket to get in; if you do not have both, your admittance will be denied. DO NOT bring anything with you such as backpacks or large purses. A small wallet will be allowed but you must carry it at all times, and it will be searched before entering. Once we acknowledge you can enter you will be given an additional form of identification that you must wear for the remainder of prom so we can help identify who belongs there and who does not. You will be allowed to leave prom at any time from the Field House, but once you leave there is no re-entry into the prom. The horseshoe for that evening will be shut down and we will not allow any parking for lineup unless you bought VIP parking. Parents are more than welcome to take pictures and enjoy the front campus for prom lineup. The weather is expected to be nice for Saturday’s prom. The Parkersburg High School Foundation is participating in the 2022 Give Local MOV campaign today. This is an opportunity for many local organizations to receive donations matched by generous donations from local individuals and businesses.

The Morris Tippens Scholarship is available now. Packets are due next Thursday April 28th. This is a full-ride scholarship to an in-state school.

On Wednesday April 20th at 5:30 in the auditorium there will be an informational meeting with representatives from WVU-P and Parkersburg High School Counselors regarding dual credit and early college courses. This meeting is for parents and guardians of current 10th and 11th graders interested in learning more about this great opportunity.

This message is for all Juniors and parents of Juniors. Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 13, all Juniors will take the SAT as their state assessment. This is a requirement for all Juniors and is a necessary component to measure their overall academic levels. All Juniors need to be in their assigned classrooms by 8am; DO NOT BE LATE! Classroom assignments have been posted throughout the first floor of the building, the front and back hallway, and in the cafeteria. Upon entering for testing, each Junior will receive a drawing ticket that will allow them to be considered for prize drawings later that afternoon in the Field House. We have about $1300 in prizes to give away just for being on time and showing up. You must be present to win and in order to be able to win you must have a ticket; which means you must be on time! Please get a good nights rest so you can perform your best. No electronic devices will be allowed during testing; this includes smart devices of any kind. All Juniors will attend the same lunch after testing is over. Juniors who have classes at the Tech or Caperton Center tomorrow, will not attend and you will be excused. Juniors parents do not plan on picking up your student during testing because we cannot interrupt testing in process. Good luck tomorrow!
Wednesday April 13th is the School Day SAT for 11th graders. Test will begin after morning announcements. Please have students in building with time to get settled and go to their testing room assignments. Testing room assignments will be posted in the hallways.
The last day to buy a yearbook is this Saturday, April 16. The cost is $70.

Yearbooks may also be purchased in-person in the finance office through this Thursday, using cash or checks made payable to Parkersburg High School.

Wood County Schools: Distribution of Wi-Fi hotspots to qualifying families will end at 3 p.m. April 15. Information on end-of-year collection of hotspots will be released in the coming weeks. All hotspots must be returned by the end of the 2021-22 school year.
