Parkersburg High School senior Brittany Ward placed second in the state Poetry Out Loud Competition on Saturday, March 1 in Charleston. Brittany competed against 41 high school students from across the state of West Virginia. As the state runner up, Brittany will receive $100 and the school will receive $200 to purchase poetry books and materials. Congratulations to Brittany and Poetry Out Loud sponsor Linda Hindman!
