The West Virginia Department of Education Office of Child Nutrition and the West Virginia Department of Human Services are teaming together to provide income-eligible students of West Virginia with supplemental food benefits for the summer of 2024.
Summer EBT, also known as SEBT, is a one-time benefit allowance of $120 for income-eligible children.
Wood County Schools participates in the Community Eligibility Program (CEP) and does not collect free/reduced lunch applications. Income-eligible families who have children who participate in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) within Wood County Schools, and who meet income criteria will qualify.
If you believe that your family meets income criteria, please visit www.wvsebt.org to view income guidelines and/or apply for the benefit. If you’re child does not participate in the National School Lunch Program, but you feel they may qualify for supplemental food benefits, visit www.wvsebt.org to view income guidelines and/or apply for the benefit.
Other children (ages 6-17) in the household that are not enrolled in the National School Lunch Program will only receive the SEBT benefit if the family participates in another public benefit program through the West Virginia Department of Human Services. If you do not receive public benefits, federal law prohibits collecting income-only applications from children who do not attend National School Lunch Programs.
If your child is eligible, she/he will receive a white envelope from a South Dakota address that has your case file that you will need to activate your child’s benefit card.
