Good evening,
To proactively address suicide prevention and remain in compliance with Jamie's Law, Senate Bill 230/House Bill 4568, requiring school administrators to provide opportunities to discuss suicide prevention information annually, we are working with a mental health agency to provide free, evidence-based education that discusses risk factors, warning signs, and things we can do to assist students in need. Students will hear a presentation during class the week of December 2 through 6. If they wish to speak to an adult about themselves or a friend in need, we will be providing follow-up sessions throughout the week. You will be contacted by school personnel regarding referral information and additional resources/services if your child was identified as being at a potential risk.
If you strongly wish that your child NOT be part of the presentation, please send an email or have your child bring in a note stating you do not wish they participate before December 3. These can be addressed to our school counselor, Mrs. Carpenter. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us.
Thank you and have a great evening.

In attempt to ensure all our Jackson students have a wonderful Christmas, we are actively searching for those who 1. Need help, and 2. Wish to help. We would like to have all placements made by the 22nd, so please act fast. If you’ve already offered to help and have yet to hear back, it’s simply because we are waiting for Wishlists to return. Note: Operation Christmas is 100% confidential and all parties will remain anonymous.
Please reach out to Ms. George via cmgeorge@k12.wv.us or simply call the school if you’d like to participate.

Congratulations to the Jackson 8th grade Theater class for getting 1st Place in the Wood County Vaping Prevention video contest! Go Generals!
Good evening, this is Mr. Kisner with a couple of announcements.
First, I want to remind everyone that 1st nine weeks report cards will go home with students tomorrow! Also, I will remind you that if you want to schedule a parent/teacher conference for next Monday, November 4, you need to do that at your earliest convenience as availability becomes limited.
I would also like to mention that with early voting, we are experiencing more vehicles than usual at the community building. It may be a good idea for the rest of the week to talk to your student about picking up over at the tennis court area or the side parking lot. Just a reminder, we do not allow students to exit the side lot, they will have to exit the front or back of the building and walk to where ever you will be meeting them. Thank you for your time this evening and Go Generals!

Good evening, this message is for your information concerning traffic around Jackson this week. They will be working on the sidewalks along Jackson Park Drive beginning tomorrow. This will cause one lane of traffic at times. Thank you.
