Good Evening Grizzly Nation! Our boys basketball team defeated Madison Elementary tonight and has earned the right to play for the Wood County Elementary School Championship. The championship game will be held at Jefferson Elementary School on Wednesday, March 15 @ 6:30 pm. Please come out and support our boys! Go Grizzlies!

Dear Greenmont Parents, As field trips are being planned, any parents that are going to be a part of their child's field trip is required to have a Wood County Schools Back Ground Check completed before they are permitted to attend a trip. Each grade level will determine if parents will be able to be a part of the trip. To obtain a background check, parents must go to: www.woodcountyschoolswv.com click OTHER click Human Resources click Parent Volunteer You must complete the entire process and pay with your credit card. When you get the background check back, you must provide our office a paper copy of the background check. Background checks are good for one calendar year. Please call our school if you have any questions 304-420-9544. **We appreciate your understanding and willingness to go through this process. Our main goal is to ensure our students and staff are in a safe environment. These forms must be on file with our school whether parents are attending a trip at a park, ride on a bus or will meet the group at the venue (depends on the trip).

Grizzlies! We want to thank all of the Grizzlies who participated in last night’s WCS Music Festival as our school sang “Don’t worry, be happy” and nailed it! Special thanks to Mrs. Walsh for inspiring our kids to love music! We also wanted to remind everyone that your Friday night plans should include cheering on our Boys Basketball team tonight at 4:30 pm as we take on the Neale Eagles. Calling all Grizzly basketball fans!!!!!!! Our Greenmont Grizzly Boys Basketball team continues its quest to stay undefeated and bring home a title with its first playoff game on Tuesday, March 7 beginning at 4:30 pm. All playoff games will be played at Jefferson Elementary School. A full concession stand will be available at each playoff game. Special thanks to our Grizzly coaches Mrs. Trish Ringer and Mr. Jim McLean for all of their time and dedication to our young men. Best of luck to our team!

Greetings parents and guardians: While working through a glitch in our all-call system, Wood County Schools realized that our morning, elementary school attendance calls to parents informing of a student absence did not go out. We want you to know that this occurred and that the problem has been corrected. Absence calls will continue as normal on Monday.

Great Musicians of Grizzlyland! Please remember to purchase music festival tickets ($3 each) no later than Wednesday, March 8 as they will not be available at the event. The 2023 WCS Music Festival is being held at 7:00 pm at the PHS Field House on Thursday, March 9. All are more than welcome to attend. Special thanks to our phenomenal music teacher, Amy Walsh!

Grizzlies, There was an error in yesterday’s message- The final class parties of the year are on Thursday, March 16 and not Friday, March 17. By having all parties on a Thursday our preK parents that have multiple children only have to take off once that week.

Good Evening Grizzlies! A few reminders for the week as we begin with students tomorrow morning…. 1. PTA meeting Tuesday, February 21 at 3:15 pm in our library. 2. PTA skating party Tuesday, February 21 beginning at 6:00 pm. Greenmont students get free admission and skate rental. Non-Greenmont siblings pay $1. 3. Boys Basketball home game Wednesday, February 22 beginning at 5:45 pm. 4. Easter/Spring classroom parties are Friday, March 17 beginning at 2:00 pm. Non-healthy snacks are limited to two items per student and we must follow WCS guidelines for foods being prepared commercially with all ingredients provided on wrappers.

Grizzlies! Our Student Council Coin Wars were a tremendous success. All monies raised from the $4,000+ will go towards the purchase and installation of a new sound system for our gymnasium. We want to thank our Student Council members as well as all of our families for supporting this event. A special thank you to our Student Council sponsors, Mrs. Shuman and Mrs. Humphrey, as they dedicated many hours to planning and carrying out this project. Have a wonderful weekend! Good Morning Greenmont, Today is the final day for our coin wars. Which grade level will reign supreme as we have one final push to raise money for a new sound system in our gym? Our student council appreciates all of your support as we try to improve our school.

Dear Greenmont, The Student Council COIN WAR is still going strong and we are kicking it up to notches unknown! Starting tomorrow, students may bring in checks (made out to Greenmont PTA) that will go towards their grade level totals. Checks won’t be for sabotage purposes. Again, the new sound system is going to cost several thousand dollars so we need every last cent!
