Good Evening Greenmont, As the weather warms, please be aware of how your children are dressed for school as what may have been worn this fall may no longer fit the same. Shorts must be an appropriate length as to keep rear ends covered, while shirts must not show the midsection/belly. Please ensure what’s written on clothing is also appropriate for school. If you have any questions, please call our school. We also need your help at the end of the day during dismissal. At dismissal, please monitor your children and keep them near you. We have had some issues with parents not paying attention which can cause safety problems. Thank you for your help.

Greenmont Fifth Grade Parents, Greenmont's Fifth Grade student will attend the Jackson Middle School Bump Up Day on Friday, May 12, 2023. Students will leave Greenmont via school bus at 8:45 am and will arrive back from Jackson Middle at approximately 10:30 am.

Good Evening Greenmont! We wanted to congratulate our track teams tonight as our Boys 12U won first place and our Girls 12U won 2nd place! Thank you teams! Paving begins tomorrow in Vienna on Grand Central which may/could/will impact getting to and from school.

Dear 3rd, 4th and 5th Grade Grizzlies, A field trip has been planned to The Wilds for Wednesday, May 17. A permission slip and a parent letter are going out to homes today or tomorrow to all 3-5 students. The cost for students is $15 payable to Greenmont Elementary School NLT Friday, April 28, 2023. Parent chaperones will be limited to three per classroom. If you wish to be considered to be a chaperone, please contact your child's teacher ASAP. If we have more than three willing parents per classroom, we will have to choose via a lottery. Please contact Mr. Ubbens (bubbens@k12.wv.us) or your child's teacher with any questions about the field trip.

Happy Friday Greenmont! As our kids are hopefully having a blast on this PD Day, our staff has been meeting and planning for next week and beyond. We look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Monday, April 10, 2023. Best wishes always!

Good Afternoon Greenmont Grizzlies, As you know, we are required by our state to conduct various emergency drills every year including fire drills, weather/tornado drills, lock down drills, shelter-in-place drills, and evacuation drills. With this in mind, we conducted a fire drill this afternoon. During the fire drill, we forced our teachers to divert to alternate exits as suggested by our recent training facilitator. Our staff and students did a fantastic job exiting the building in a timely manner especially given the alternate exits. We are truly fortunate to have an excellent staff that can think on its feet when necessary and have our students perform at such a high level. We will continue with our required safety drills later this week as well as fire drills each month. Again, thank you to our staff for being an extraordinary group of professionals.

Dear Grizzlies, It was great seeing our kids and staff back at school today. A reminder that there will be a PTA meeting tomorrow after school in our library beginning at 3:15. All are welcome to attend.

Good Evening Greenmont, There’s only a half hour left to get to the Vienna Qdoba to support our Student Council. Remember that 20% of all sales goes directly to our Student Council for our school’s Easter Egg Hunt. Sales end at 7:00 pm tonight!

Good Morning Greenmont! As our boys basketball team won the county championship last night, please come and celebrate with us tonight for dinner at QDOBA (Vienna location)! When you come between 5pm-7pm 20% of ALL SALES will go towards our Student Council . Monies raised are going towards our Easter Egg Hunt and other Student Council activities. Thanks for supporting our Student Council as we congratulate our boys on becoming Wood County champions for 2023!

Hello Grizzlies! Tomorrow is the day of our classroom parties. A reminder that parents may send donated party items in to the classroom at drop-off. Parties begin at 2:00 pm and parents must sign in at the main office. Foods served must have the ingredients listed and must not be home made. Thanks for your help in monitoring this. Tonight at 6:30 pm our boys basketball team plays in the championship game versus Lubeck elementary School. Please come out and support our boys in their quest for a perfect season! *Thursday's lunch is spaghetti while Friday' s lunch is homemade pepperoni rolls *SPRING BREAK IS MARCH 20-24!!!!
